The british developer team CADScan introduces a desktop colour 3D scanner called CADScan.
February 14, 2013: The compact high resolution 3D Scanner can automatically create 3D models of objects up to a size of 22 cm (8.7 inch) in diameter and 20 cm (7.9 inch) in hight. The device itself has the size of a microwave, is very intuitive and comes with it’s own scanning software, being able to export in .STL, .OBJ, and .PLY formats.
The working prototype is made of ABS and steel.
Update: November 19, 2013 – CADScan Cubik Full Colour 3D scanner
The CADScan 3D scanner promoted on Kickstarter has been redeveloped into a full colour desktop 3D scanner and is available for £899 plus VAT.
