6K Additive has announced that it is teaming up with several distributors and agents to build an international network of trading partners.
Broder Metals Group will distribute materials in the UK and Ireland, Advance Metal Powder will handle distribution in India, while Infotron/Plastosel will cover Turkey and Intelligent AM will supply powder as agents in Israel, the UAE and Saudi Arabia. Further distributors will be added in the coming months based on market demand and the identification of suitable partners.
Nick Pflugh, Chief Commercial Officer for 6K Additive, said, “The breadth of material offerings we have, the quality standards, and the sustainability benefits have attracted customers globally to 6K Additive. Having local professionals who not only understand the customer requirements but also understand materials and applications for metal additive manufacturing is crucial to support the international market. Our new network of agents and distributors each excel at helping customers qualify the right material for the right application. We are excited to welcome them to the extended team of 6K Additive.”
6K’s UniMelt plasma production system is uniquely capable of converting scrap metal and end-of-life parts into high-performance metal powders for additive manufacturing, metal injection molding and other powder metallurgy production techniques. For the first time, this will provide access to a large domestic supply of strategically important metals and alloys such as nickel and titanium from machine shops and scrap yards, as well as refractory powders such as C103 and tungsten, which are critical for hypersonic and nuclear applications. 6K Additive’s patented process cleans, prepares and spheroidizes scrap alloys into high-quality powders that outperform atomization technologies.
The announcement of the expanded distribution network follows 6K Additive’s life cycle assessment projects for titanium and nickel powders. An independent study quantifying the environmental footprint of printable metal powder production and comparing atomization technologies to the 6K Additive process found that 6K’s UniMelt process offers 91% energy savings and a 92% reduction in carbon emissions over traditional processes for Ni718 powders.
By expanding its distribution network and promoting sustainable production methods, 6K Additive ensures that its innovative materials are available worldwide, helping to advance additive manufacturing and reduce its environmental footprint.
