Formnext + PM South China 2024: New trends in 3D printing and powder metallurgy

Formnext + PM South China will take place in Hall 13 of the Shenzhen World Exhibition Center from August 28 to 30, 2024. With an expected 300 exhibitors on an area of 20,000 square meters, the event will offer a broad overview of additive manufacturing, powder metallurgy and advanced ceramic technologies. The aim is to anchor these technologies more firmly in the Chinese manufacturing industry. The expanded supporting program includes numerous new sessions on industry trends and emerging manufacturing technologies.

Southern China is one of the country’s most productive industrial regions, producing components and finished goods for various sectors such as automotive, consumer electronics, home appliances and more. These industries also represent growing markets for additive manufacturing, powder metallurgy and advanced ceramics, as these technologies enable the production of products that are difficult or impossible to realize using traditional methods.

Additive manufacturing offers manufacturers increased flexibility to produce cost-effective, customized or low-volume parts and enables shorter product development cycles through rapid prototyping. Powder metallurgy, on the other hand, delivers near-net-shape products with minimal material waste from various alloys and metals, while advanced ceramics are increasingly used in specialty applications such as dentistry, medicine and electronics.

Formnext + PM South China connects suppliers of technologies and services in these fields with potential industrial customers from China and abroad, creating new business opportunities and supporting the commercialization of these technologies. The exhibition covers the entire manufacturing process from design to delivery, showcasing products and services from raw materials, 3D scanners and software to 3D printers, accessories and post-processing technologies.

In addition to the exhibition, attendees can participate in various educational and application-oriented forums and seminars as part of the supporting program. These sessions will bring together experts from leading companies, researchers and other industry players to share their knowledge on emerging advanced manufacturing technologies and their implementation. Highlights of the 2024 programme include the first 3D Print Farm Conference, organized in collaboration with Nanjixiong and SUNLU, and the Laser and Additive Manufacturing Forum, which will focus on the latest developments in laser technology.

This event underlines the increasing importance of additive manufacturing technologies in the modern industrial context and provides a platform for the exchange of knowledge and experience that can contribute to the further dissemination and integration of these technologies into manufacturing processes.
