Swiss industrial designer Adrian Goegl, who was also a nominee for i.materialise’s designer of the year award, has launched his 3D printed eyewear already back in 2014.
Oak & Dust eyewear is made from 3D printed polyamide and features a cork nose support that is milled based on a 3D scan of the wearer’s face.
Goegl has been an optician for many years and therefor knows that a lot of spectacles are distributing their weight not very well on the nose. The nose bridge of his bespoke eyewear is custom made and perfectly fits the wearer’s nose. Additionally the cork material prevents it from sliding down and is also very light, flexible and comfortable to wear.
Clients will also receive a custom milled cork case for their glasses to protect them from scratches, hits and extreme temperatures.
