ROBOZE, a global leader in additive manufacturing for high-performance materials, has announced a collaboration with Hitachi Rail. Hitachi Rail, a pioneer in the railroad sector, has selected the ROBOZE ARGO 500 solution to be used in its state-of-the-art factories in Naples, Italy and Washington County, Maryland.
The rail industry is constantly faced with the challenge of optimizing the availability and cost of spare parts production. ROBOZE’s additive manufacturing technology offers a practical solution by enabling faster and more cost-effective production compared to traditional machining methods. With the implementation of the ARGO 500 solution, Hitachi Rail can now replace traditionally machined metal parts, resulting in significant cost savings and reduced lead times.
“Our partnership with ROBOZE underlines our commitment to delivering advanced, high-quality manufacturing for our customers. The partnership will enable us to harness 3D printing to improve operational efficiency and reduce costs for producing prototypes and railway spare parts.” says Luca D’Aquila, COO Hitachi Rail Group and CEO Hitachi Rail Italy. “This additive solution will be used at our Naples site in Italy and our new digital factory in Washington County, Maryland. allowing us to respond effectively to our customers’ needs.”
The cooperation between Hitachi Rail and ROBOZE goes beyond the mere supply of machines. Hitachi Rail also benefits from the engineering services and advice provided by ROBOZE’s expert teams in both the USA and Italy. This ensures continuous and highly specialized support.
“ROBOZE continues to prove itself as a reliable and innovative partner for companies aiming to rethink their production and push the boundaries of progress through technology,” states Alessio Lorusso, Founder & CEO of ROBOZE.
Hitachi Rail will soon open its state-of-the-art train car factory in Washington County, Maryland. The $70 million factory will deliver the first order of the new 8000 series of rail cars for the Washington Metropolitan Area Transit Authority and leverages Hitachi Group’s extensive technology expertise to become the most advanced digital manufacturing facility. By partnering with ROBOZE, Hitachi Rail will be able to use its advanced 3D printing solution to produce prototypes and spare parts for the railroad.
