Footwear manufacturer United Nude and 3D printing company 3D Systems have been collaborating for projects in the past. During an Exhibition at Milan Design week the two companies unveiled the creative results of their “Re-inventing Shoes” project.
Collaborating with leading architects and designers Ben van Berkel, Zaha Hadid, Ross Lovegrove, Fernando Romero and Michael Young they presented five different shoe models, pushing the boundaries of 3D printing technology by allowing sculptural freedom.
The models created by the designers were 3D printed in a hard nylon and a soft rubber material using Selective Laser Sintering (SLS). Each shoe will be available as a up to 50 pair limited edition.
