The Chinese company Guangdong Dale Technology has developed the Kidoodle MiniBox A1, a 3D printer specially designed for children aged 6 to 14. The device is designed to encourage young users’ creativity and spatial thinking by enabling them to turn their ideas into three-dimensional objects.
The MiniBox A1 is the core product of the Kidoodle brand. The new 3D printer is currently available on the crowdfunding platform Kickstarter. Early Bird offers for the 3D printer are available from just 147 euros. The printer is scheduled to be delivered in August.
The printer itself is designed with children in mind. The device has a closed printing chamber and when the door of the Kidoodle MiniBox A1 is opened, the printing process is automatically interrupted and the nozzle temperature is lowered. The printer is also very easy to use. The Kidoodle MiniBox A1 is ready for use straight out of the box.
It is operated via an app. Children can also select print jobs from ready-made models. The installation space is quite compact at 100 mm x 100 mm x 90 mm. The maximum printing speed is 600 mm/s. The manufacturer recommends PLA as the material.
