Colibrium Additive, a GE Aerospace company, has introduced Spectra M, the latest addition to its Spectra portfolio of electron beam fusion printers (EB-PBF). Spectra M is available to order now, with first deliveries expected in early Q1 2025.
The Spectra M’s smaller build envelope makes it particularly attractive to users in various industries, especially medical and orthopaedic implant manufacturers looking to further reduce their cost per part and production costs.

Spectra M is in direct response to constant dialogue with our customers, particularly those additive super users in the orthopedic implant industry,” said Oscar Angervall, senior product manager, Colibrium Additive.
The Spectra M is equipped with EBMControl 6.4, which was also introduced at RAPID + TCT 2024, and is fully compatible with Point Melt, Powder Supports and Plate Free technologies. Depending on the application, customers can choose between a high-productivity mode or an advanced Point Melt-based process mode that enables support-free printing without compromising surface roughness or mechanical properties.
Overall, the Spectra M represents a significant expansion of Colibrium Additive’s 3D printing portfolio, offering users a flexible and cost-effective solution for additive manufacturing. With these innovations, Colibrium aims to further optimize production processes in the industry and improve the quality of manufactured parts.
