Aubert & Duval and Alloyed present ABD-1000AM nickel superalloy

Aubert & Duval and Alloyed are pleased to announce the launch of Alloyed’s new nickel superalloy ABD-1000AM. It is the latest in a series of alloys developed specifically for additive manufacturing.

The agreement between Alloyed and Aubert & Duval extends the existing successful partnership, which already includes the ABD-900AM alloy. Under this agreement, Aubert & Duval will act as production partner for ABD-1000AM and supply Alloyed with the powder raw material used to manufacture the components.

The AM industry has long sought to produce parts from alumina-forming alloys such as Ni247LC and Ni713, but the susceptibility of these alloys to cracking has significantly limited their application maturity. ABD-1000AM has been designed to be free from solidification, fluid and ageing cracking and is characterized by exceptional workability. The typical microstructure has a relative density of over 99.9% and extremely low defect levels, consisting of 55% gamma prime phase in the as-hardened state, a property only made possible by utilizing Alloyed’s ABD platform to specifically engineer the alloy for the AM process characteristics.
